Quality Initiatives / Incremental Improvements

IQAC has diligently been involved in helping the management, principal, and other committees by offering valuable suggestions and measures to maintain consistency in the quality of education. It strives to maintain quality in all management processes. Its contributions are as follows:

Ensuring transparency in the administrative procedures to assure quality enhancement.
Distributing work among teachers so that each can contribute effectively with a sense of accountability.
Not practicing time-bound duty, as teacher-taught interaction is essential in the daily routine.
Motivating Departments to adopt best practices in tune with the Gurukulam.
Encouraging teachers to pursue research.
Working together, senior and junior teachers instill a sense of teamwork without discrimination.

As per the guidance of IQAC, teachers prepare online instructional course materials, uploaded them on the institutional website, and share them with students through their respective WhatsApp groups.

To calculate CO PO attainment, Course Exit Survey and Programme Exit Survey were conducted by the IQAC, and the same is submitted to the ERMS coordinator.

As per the suggestion given by the IQAC, all Science Departments have included IPR as one unit in a course offered to final year UG students.

As per the guidance of IQAC, the Central Library of the college conduct Major-wise N-list awareness and Digital Library programs for the students.
Quality Initiatives

Incremental Improvements Made with Regard to Quality

Distributing work among teachers so that each can contribute effectively with a sense of accountability.
The University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi granted an extension of autonomous status for 10 years until 2027-28.
The UGC, New Delhi sanctioned the College with Potential for Excellence during the year 2016-17 for the period of five years until 2020-21.
The Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology sanctioned the DBT Star College Scheme during the year 2021-22 for the period of three years until 2023-24.
Mentoring Institutional Social Responsibility and Facilitating Community Engagement in collaboration with MGNCRE under Swachhata Action Plan in 2021-22.
Instrumental in establishing BIOGAS PLANT sponsored by the TNSCST.
Organized faculty enrichment programs.
IQAC introduced an innovative program, KALEIDOSCOPE (a seminar on a common topic with different perspectives).
Implemented the Unnat Bharat Abhyan by adopting five villages.
Implemented Outcome-Based Education (OBE) in 2018-19 and Learning Outcome-Based Curriculum Framework (LOCF) in 2021-22.

4 Teachers need to be given incentives for academic excellence Special Increment in the salary given to the teachers who got Ph.D Degree.
5 Post graduation in Mathematics Diploma in Physical Education and Diploma in Management The college already got course affiliation on M.Sc.Mathematics in 2014-15. Therefore, the college introduced M.Sc.Physics, M.Sc.Botany, B.Sc.Yoga, Diploma in Indian Heritage and Culture, and PG Diploma in Indian Heritage and Culture in 2017-18.
6 Coaching facilities for competitive examination like TOEFL, SSB, and Civil Services The college conducts General Knowledge classes for all the UG and PG students on every Saturday between 6.45 pm and 8.00 pm.
Naren IAS Academy conducts Online Quiz and Offline Quiz as part of coaching for various competitive examinations.
7 Yoga Research Centre Centre for Yoga and Meditation was established in 2020-21.
8 Seed money for young researchers Seed Money for Research Scheme was created.
9 Career guidance and Placements Cells need to be streamlined Career guidance and Placements Cells streamlined with the allocations of Department-wise Coordinator along with the core team. Between 2015-16 and 2021-22 893 students got selected. 35 companies visited.
10 Up gradation of Language Labs The Language Lab has been newly created under UGC CPE fund and upgraded with computers, LED TV, Headsets, Mic etc.
