Internet facility is available in the library as well as in Common Computer / Internet Labs. which is used by staff and students whenever they are free. However, most of the teachers do have internet facilities at home which help them prepare teaching materials

All Departments have been provided with internet connection through RailNet.

Student Amenity Centre

The Student Amenity Centre of the college provides the following necessities for the students.

Students can avail photocopying center.
All necessary stationeries and edible items are available in the store.
Students can use coin phone facility round the clock.
Fresh fruits are available in the Fruit Stall.

Assistant Professor of Chemistry

✔ A Community Health Care centre is situated in the campus itself where a qualified Doctor from Sholavandan visits thrice a week. There is an attendant available round the clock for any emergency first aid service. Essential medicines like paracetamol, cough syrup, antibiotic capsules, ointments etc., are available.

✔ In case of emergency we go to Madurai for better medical treatment with the transport facilities available in the campus round the clock.

✔ Three faculty members provide guidance for medical consultation and treatment.

✔ Students Safety Insurance Policy of New India Assurance Company made compulsory for all Students covering up to Rs. 85, 000/- per Student.

Sports and Games

Sports and Games is an integral part of Vivekananda College total Educational Programme.

The college has provided extensive playing fields and courts for all sports like Basketball, Ball Badminton, Cricket, Football, Handball, Hockey, Kabaddi, Kho – Kho, Volleyball and Athletics. An Indoor stadium is also available for Badminton, Table Tennis, Carrom and Chess. The individual / martial sport like silambam are also encouraged in our campus. Apart from these facilities ample sports materials, commendable guidance, motivation and coaching are given by the Director of Physical Education towards participation in various Inter collegiate, Inter Zonal, State level tournaments in a splendid manner. The Department of Physical Education is consecutively organizing zonal, state level sports events in the college premises towards enhancing our students Team work, willpower, organizing talents and sportive nature with different cultured people.

Fitness Centre

Vivekananda Fitness Centre offers gym facility with High-class fitness Equipment with 12 & 4 station multi-gym for the well-being of the students.

Membership :

Interested Students shall register their names for membership in Vivekananda Fitness Centre.

Dress Code :

Registered members should wear proper attire inclusive of T-shirt, shorts and lower.
Athletic shoes must be worn.

Rules and Regulations :

Carrying of your college id card is mandatory, and it should be shown on entry at front desk.
Persons using the equipment in the Gymnasium are responsible for their own safety.
Eating and drinking (except water) is prohibited in the Gymnasium at all times.
For the safety of all users, please refrain from preventing or interfering others’ use of the equipment in the Gymnasium.
For the benefit of all, it is requested that you return equipment to the corresponding place when finished.
Keep Silence in the gym.
The use of personal towel is required in order to avoid possible.
In case of any doubt, complaints on using Gym equipment or equipment breakdowns, we requested that you immediately contact the Physical Director.
Please handle the equipment in the Gymnasium with care. Users are responsible for any damages to the facilities or equipment.
Users are responsible for their own property and safety.
Failure to comply with the above rules may result in loss of gym privileges.
For safety standards, CCTV has been installed at the centre.

Bank

The Canara Bank, Sholavandan established an Extension Counter at the College for the benefit of Staff, Students and the public in and around the College. The Canara Bank Extension Counter offers the services like savings account, recurring deposit, fixed deposit, Demand Draft, RTGS, NEFT, student scholarship account, online banking, net banking etc.,. Students who are eligible for Government Scholarships have Savings Bank account and the scholarship money is directly credited in the account.

Monday to Friday – 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.

Second and four Saturday – Holiday.

Post Office

The Post Office is established at the College premises for the benefit of Staff, Students and the public in and around the College. The Post Office offers the services like Savings Account, Recurring Deposit, Rural Postal Life Insurance, etc..

Working Hours :

Monday to Saturday – 9.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. (Sunday – Holiday)

Letter Clearance on all days – 1.00 p.m.
